About Sarah

Published by pearcanyon

Hello, and thanks for checking out my blog.  While I don’t update this thing several times a day, I do put a lot of time and energy into my posts, and I welcome your comments.

I’m a proud military wife, but I also value myself as many other things outside of my affiliation with the military.  Sometimes I get a little depressed when I encounter other military wives who use their husband’s career to completely define their lives and their selves.  I believe I owe it to myself to support my husband while still fighting for my rights to a fulfilling career of my own and a life that doesn’t revolve around the Air Force.

I envision this blog as many things.  I’d like it to be a place where I can vent when the red tape and foibles of the military get to be too much.  I’d love to act as an advocate for other modern military wives like me who are striving to define themselves within and outside the realm of the armed forces.  I want to provide other military spouses with resources as I come across them, and advice based on my own experiences.  I’d love for my blog to serve as a rallying point and place for modern military wives to share a community.  But maybe I’m getting ahead of myself here!

As for me, I am a former property management professional, having recently quit my job to pursue my life long dream of being a freelance writer.  This blog is one of my writing outlets on the internet.  You can also find me at these places:

Oh, and last but not least- I’ve been married for a wonderful two years to my husband Justin.  He’s a 1st Lt in the USAF and just recently completed Navigator training.  We’re currently in San Antonio and we’ll be moving to Warner Robins, GA early next year, where he’ll be flying on E-8s (”J-Stars”).
